Chelsea Day 4 - AM recap

The day began with the crisp winter air filling the “Magical Tent,” where some athletes woke up early, while others were roused by the early birds in the group. Meanwhile, a few parents had already left before dawn to start a fire at the Keogan hut, about 2 km from Chalet des érables, in preparation for the much-anticipated pancake breakfast.

Before heading to breakfast, each athlete had to pack their backpacks, marking the start of the day’s adventure. The big highlight was the popularity of the tandem skis—an amusing challenge that started the previous night. For those who had attended the movie night fundraising event, they were already familiar with the story of the tandem skis. Coach Jay had crafted a long pair of skis, affectionately called "the beast." Luca and Sacha took on the challenge, skiing to Keogan as a team, while Yannick and Henry made the return trip. Other athletes joined in too, with plenty of laughs along the way, as the tandem skiing turned out to be as awkward as it was fun!

Once at Keogan, everyone celebrated Julia’s birthday with a special treat before enjoying a filling pancake breakfast, complete with maple syrup, whipped cream, and fresh oranges. The birthday celebration added a fun and festive touch to the morning! While the kids relished the best cabin breakfast ever, eager parents started cleaning up at Chalet des érables and hauling the backpacks back to the parking lot.

As everyone got ready to head home, there was a sense of relief and happiness, knowing they could rest before heading to the wave pool and House of Targ for the evening's adventures.
